My sister has a Crate and Barrel wine tower that she bought for $459. It's beautiful, but it's out of my budget at the moment.
So I decided to see if I could "make" my own for less . . .
I found a tall bookcase at Ikea for $60 (EXPEDIT, in the "black-brown" color). But it also comes in birch and white colors.
In the kitchen supplies section of Ikea, I found a mountable wine glass rack for about $5.
To dress up the shelf a bit, I also purchased the additional straw basket (KNIPSA, in seagrass) that can slide into any of the shelves. It was $17. There were other basket inserts as well, if you prefer a different style or more than one.
wine glass rack $5
straw basket $17
Total cost = $82
Total saved by making my own = $377
And the FINISHED PRODUCT:

You'd never guess it was meant to be a bookcase. I set up the rest of my wine supplies (wine stoppers, aerator, and wine opener set, etc) on the rest of the shelves. You could also place your wine bottles on their sides on one of the shelves. We have ours in a seperate location, so this is really just for our supplies and display. But we did put some bottles in the basket on the lowest shelf.
In all the cost was as follows:
